Year 2013

It's the, hmm 5th day of 2013, but it still feels like 2013 to me. Had plans every day this week but I kinda cancelled/postponed most of them 'cuz I just wanted to stay at home and.. chill. A perfect day for me goes like this: Swim, eat, nap, read, dinner with family and watch drama.
So yep, here's a recap of 2013!
New year's eve: Was supposed to countdown at Clarke Quay but decided to stay at home instead. Made pizza, sushi, red bean soup, oyster omelette and ddeokbokki with the family! :) My favourite part was making sushi, watching running man and feeding (or forcing hahaha) each other food because we had too much leftovers. Obviously my dad and bro 'suffered' the most because no matter how much they eat, they won't get fat. HOW UNFAIR. :(
Felt really guilty at 11ish for eating so much so I started exercising. And when everyone went, "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" on TV, I was doing tricep dips hahaha. Looks like 2014 will be awesome for me in terms of fitness! :)
Family:
This was taken when they sent me off at the airport! (Aussie trip)
Acting cute because my bro complained that I'm always doing it to them hahaha. #annoyingsisterhere
Sissy! Even after I graduated from SSS, some of the teachers could recognize her as my sister 'cuz we just look too alike. But no one could tell that Matt was her brother because he doesn't look like us, LOL.
Favourite family picture taken this year!
And this was.. Chinese new year at aunt's place with my cuzzzzies
Travel
Went to three countries (excluding Malaysia) and spent around $5000 for everything. Wasn't sponsored by my parents at all because it just doesn't feel right taking their money & enjoying myself while they work hard in Singapore. :/
First up: Australia! (Gold Coast and Sydney)
LOVEEEE my hair color in this picture. Sadly, it's not that red irl :(

2. Bangkok with Chirpy
It was a hardcore shopping trip and I'll never forget the horrific experience at Bangkok's airport on the way back 'cuz it was the first time i flew back alone (chirp extended her trip 'cuz her friends went over) and maaaany things went wrong. Had an awesome time with Chirpy though ^^
Delighted to see my parents again!
3. Taiwan
With Peiling, Dewei and Guohong! More on this trip in another post (hopefully).
Highlights of the trip would be singing karaoke for 6 hours twice from 4am-10am and 12-6am, clubbing at babe18 (tried Absinthe for the first time and had sorethroat IMMEDIATELY. Insane) and cycling at Beitou even though it was raining.
Note to self: DO NOT TAKE TRANSIT FLIGHTS IF POSSIBLE. EVEN IF IT'S CHEAPER :(
Birthday
Had the best birthday celebrations this year. Instant mood lifter whenever I look at my birthday pics. :') So thankful for my friends for putting in the effort to surprise me and treating me like a princess for like 1.5weeks. What did I do to deserve you guys seriously ♥
Fitness
Before I started Insanity, I was exercising around 4 times a week. So when I found out that I had to work out 6x a week for Insanity, I thought it'd be hard but manageable. I was SO wrong, lol. I really felt like collapsing on many occasions and just the warm-ups alone were enough to make me look like I just showered.
Yup, here's my progress in 2 months.
(Didn't want to post this up initially because I dont have abs (yet) haha but sissy said that I should, because I've worked so hard and should be proud of it.. I still have a lot to work on, though)
Wouldn't have completed this journey without Ninja Nella, my favorite gym buddy + fellow cancerian (equally emotional). There were so many times I wanted to give up, but I didn't, because she was around to motivate me. XIE XIE NI <3
SMU
Peiling, my Kimchi ^^
Met her in Oct 2012 during Netball's 1st exco meeting. Didn't expect us to click initially because after the meeting, we didn't initiate any conversation/meetups. We just kept bumping into each other at lib level 4's toilet HAHAHA. And one day, I decided to ask her to gym with me and she agreed. That was our first and (sadly) last gym session together.
She was also the one who gave me the opportunity to work at Cafe Iguana (best part time job, period) in Dec 2012. Studied for y1s1, y1s2, y2s1 final exams with her. Joined Starring camp together in summer as facilitators. Trip to Taiwan in December. We practically saw each other almost every day in 2013. Hehe. Both of us enjoy reading (thought-provoking, ahem) articles and we'll always spam each other with links haha. Thank god for you, you kimchichichic. :')
Taken when we went to Johor for my birthday celebration part I!
On her birthday! I just realized that we've the same pose hahaha
#Hotbodclan
Met these 2 girls in Business Law class. They sat beside me and we also didn't click initially hahaha until like week.. 5? I started talking to Sandy more often 'cuz we were in the same Management Science class too! Will never forget how surprised she was when she found out that I was able to read her mind so easily despite knowing her for <2 months. I'm just too good at it, rightttt ^^
Surprise exam welfare from my bb, canele's macarons hehe
Clubbed at Zouk after exams~~
Also, not forgetting my TWC girls!
Always entertained by them (hence I'm always laughing) and thankful for their encouragements all year round ^^
Baking session at Cat's place.. WE MUST DO IT AGAIN, GIRLS. I promise that Sasa and I won't overbeat the eggs again HAHAA.
Summer + Events:
Starring! Most enjoyable camp experience :)
Uni-Y programmes
MEET OUR LEE GWANG SOO HAHA
Facilitator for Bondue camp (for business students) and the annoying kimchi crashed my group as a fake freshie
Came in 3rd for SMU's food trail! NOT BAD RIGHTTTT. Thanks Jer jer for initiating hahaha
Vouchers + $100~
Helped out for Waikiki's captain ball event.. Was an eye-opener 'cuz some people can get REALLY competitive and rude. *rolls eyes*
(G)old friends:
Stayed over at Kent Ridge (NUS)
Wong's pretty room!
Went for a midnight jog because I wanted to exercise. She didn't have her sports shoes with her so she wore her $5 nua shoes hahaha. And guess what, after the run, we went for supper and she ordered iced milo, cheese fries and rosti (with lots of sour cream). CAAAAARBS.
Adventure Cove with my dearest girls to celebrate Wong's birthday!
And my secondary school noobies.
Really grateful for the talk at my void deck with Chirp. This stupid girl always has the ability to make me cry and laugh simultaneously.
Random meetup at PS 'cuz May is in SMU now too!
Work
Selfie at work (Iguana) with my colleagues. It was my longest part-time job and I really love everyone there. Left in Sep 2013 but the manager still invited me to their staff christmas party (SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS and fooood) T_T Shall visit them soon!
Had other random part-time jobs too, IT fair in June selling plugs LOL and 4-day event at Fitnessfirst with Sandy bb. During December, I was an art and craft teacher and had to go to various community centres to teach 5-10 year old kids. The pay was high, but justified, because after each lesson (3 hours) I'd be so drained and had to stone for like 10-15 minutes to recover. Not exaggerating.
---
Finally done with this lengthy post hahha, took me hourssss. Overall, 2013 was a pretty good year but 2014 WILL BE BETTER. Shall go to bed soon 'cuz it's the first day of school tomorrow. FIGHTING, PEOPLE! :)

==========
There are many things which I am thankful for.
I do not have a good GPA. I do not have a lot of money. I do not have a boyfriend. I do not have, am not, and will never be, anything special.
But.
I have a family that loves me, and even though we quarrel and get angry, there is an unspoken care for each other, which provides me with comfort. I am thankful that we are all together, and at the same time I am sorry, to those who have lost their family through death or divorce or any other reason. I can only imagine the pain you must endure, and yet that would only be a fraction of what you actually feel.
I have friends who make me laugh and accept me for myself, even though I can be annoying and too retarded. They listen to my problems and actually want to help. I am grateful for every minute you take off to try and help, or to just be there so I know that you got my back. I am sorry for always bothering you and being a burden. For everything you've done for me, I've accumulated a debt I cannot repay.
I have my health, and even though I am not thin or beautiful, even though I sometimes look in the mirror or down at myself and sigh, even though outwardly I am severely lacking, my body is functioning well and I can play sports, a luxury many want but can never afford.
We keep aiming for something extraordinary, yet we don't realise that actually, every simple, little thing we have is extraordinary in itself.
Beautifully written.
Happy new year, guys! :)

JINGLE BELLLLLS JINGLE BELLLLS~
On Christmas Eve, I had dinner with my family at my favorite Zichar store!! YUMS. & then daddy fetched me to Fel's place for our yearly stay over heheheh.

Our gifts! The Starbucks bag was from me but there wasn't anything in the bag that was from Starbucks haha. My gifts are quite.... Predictable I would say. 1 box of Ferrero Rocher (best best affordable chocolates that I love), 1 bottle of marble soda (NEED TO STRESS THIS. It's a childhood drink right?! You get to push a marble down before you drink so that there'll be bubbles in it.. Stupid Chirp & Mel said that they have never heard of it before hmphhhh. Anyway, I found the drink in Taiwan! No longer selling in Singapore), Hershey chocolates & Seaweed from Taiwan for the junk food addict, Wong Yun Han.
#DIDYOUSAYFOOD? Ate so much for the past few weeks since Taiwan trip. Sigh...... :(
On Christmas! Family decided to head to Malaysia for a day trip and it was a fab choiceeee. Stocked up necessities from Watsons (super aunty but it's a lot cheaper!!), watched Police Story 3 by Jackie Chan 'cuz my parents love him, laughed a lot, walked till our legs were sore and of course, we kept eating the entire day.
Mee Pok Curry Ramen Meesua Sweet Potato Tomyam noodles Durian puff Durian pie Fried bananas Coffee buns Black ball's dessert Yami yoghurt Auntie anne's crepe Pizzas *gasps*
Shopping with Sissy tomorrow and I can't wait for 31st dec! Will be preparing a feast at home with my family again hehehe have been spending so much time with them recently but I'm not complaining (:

Using the blogger app to blog again! Hahaha I'm on my way to the west (boon freaking lay) to teach & then to the east to give tuition. Mummy, Matt and ade are finally back from Taiwan! Yeah, they went Taiwan too with my relatives.
My legs are wayyyy too tanned, I hope it's the lighting :/
Met Ms Lim and A* for dinner yesterday! It was a great catchup, knowing that everyone's doing well. :) "Ms lim, can I hug you? Haha cuz the last time I did that I was crying" "Of course!"
Teared when I saw this, (yes I should stop tearing so easily) because it made me think of what I've went through so far and despite that, i'm still surviving. It's true that what happened 2 years ago forced me to think positively and be independent. I used to rely on people too much & was extremely self-conscious. Going out & eating alone were no nos, but I'm okay with it now. I guess exercising really plays a major role in boosting my confidence haha. Ohhh on a side note, my friends said that I look toned, esp my legs woohooo #hardworkpaidoff
Met up with Cong before I left Singapore. Dinner at 49seats and then tauhuay in his car hahaha. Thanks for annoying me since 2010!
Reaching my destination soon, which means... Goodbye! :)
