(Wrote this 2 weeks ago but I didn't publish it)
It's a Friday night. And I'm home. The old me would be chillin' somewhere with my friends after work or school or partying away. But now, a perfect day for me would consist of reading, swimming, chilling at someone's place with acoustic music in the background.
Maybe because I'm getting old... But what the heck, I'm not even 21 yet. Or maybe 'cuz I'm exhausted after a day of work.
And that brings me to the point of today's entry - My internship at Fixx (www.fixx.sg)
I was very surprised when I found out that I was interning at Fixx instead of Gushcloud. When I went to the office on the first day, Darren said, "Fixx is somewhat like the digital arm of Gushcloud".
I thought it'd take me quite awhile to adjust my expectations because I really wanted to work with bloggers (!! Oh stalker Ame) and famous Youtubers (WongFu Productions collaborated with GC two weeks before I joined Fixx. Sigh #fateless) However, I was so wrong. By the end of Day 1, I already liked what I was doing. I like the people here. Their passion. Their energy. The amazing opportunities I have to learn and grow.
Week 1:
Team dinner at Irodori on my 2nd day of work!
#thingswedo
Making fun of Darren's (our boss, who's only 4 years older) tag lines hahaha.
Got me laughing like crazy in the office.
And because Charlotte told me that I've a tendency to exclaim in my emails and texts...
Week 2:
The girls @ Fixx! Our last day at our previous office @ Hoot Kiam Road.
Taking a break from all the packing and having dinner together.
Headed to our new office near 10pm, and started fixx-ing chairs and tables from Ikea. We were only done at around 2-ish in the morning... and it was a Thursday night.
This is our most updated group picture hahaha but we're missing Henner, Jem, Jasmine and Sheryl here.
Week 3 & 4:
Headed to KL with the Fixx Team to join Hackathon 2014! An event hosted by Gushcloud Malaysia.
The number 1 thing I've learnt at work so far:
Know what works for you, and keep doing it.
I know it sounds really duh, but trust me, it's not that easy to remind yourself that all the time.
I'm someone who's driven by goals. If goals are not quantifiable, I'd take my time & nothing good would be done. Decent? Yes. But definitely not my best.
So for 'A' levels, I had specific goals. Specific scores I had to achieve to get to where I want. But in University, I didn't have that right from the start. I was too lazy/didn't bother to find out more on calculating my cumulative GPA. So yup, now my GPA is just... meh.
Charlotte discovered this trait of mine on the 2nd week and told me to send her my to-do list for the day first thing in the morning. Well, it's definitely working. :>

Kuala Lumpur so far has been exhausting but fun.We took the bus ride up REALLY early in the morning and it took us forever (7 Hours, ouch my butt) to reach KL. And ever since I've gotten here, I've been… eating helping out eating eating helping out eating and not so much of sleeping.
Food log for the past 1.5 Days: #unhealthy
Ramly Burger, Coffee, Jo Jo Pan mee (somewhat like Malaysia's version of Kin Kin), Domino's Pizza, Dope Bermanti Indomee
Mac Breakfast, Coffee, Street Malay food, Jo Jo Pan Mee (again. This shows how awesome it is)
Punny
Gushcloud's Penthouse in KL
View from the bedroom, heh.

Abrupt end 'cuz I got to settle my school exchange stuff, swim, tuition & meal prep for tomorrow's lunch.
From nothing into something,
Ame
